The University of Jordan and ProgressSoft Corporation officially opened the doors of the new ultramodern lab facility in the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology (KASIT) on 20 November 2019.

This initiative came as part of ProgressSoft Corporation’s national vision for the IT sector under the rationale of ‘creating a lab for the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology that not only provides an avant-garde learning environment to students of the University of Jordan but stands as a prototype that steers an inspiring national endeavor for all corporations to offer their support for the advancement, encouragement and reform of the learning capabilities of all students in Jordan.’

As such, ProgressSoft Corporation bestowed an ultramodern computer lab with interior elements carefully reviewed to transform the computer lab, hallway and recession area on the same floor into dynamic and inspiring spaces that establish a sense of community between students and their university.

The refurbished computer lab utilizes the latest display technology with smart classroom televisions, video conferencing set-up and top-of-the-line computers, and is furnished with comfortable and modern chairs, desks and tables picked with durability as a basic principle in mind to prolong the integrity of the space. Attention to detail in the ProgressSoft lab extends to acoustical wall panels that minimize noise emitted from within the lab as well as world-class lighting hues and distribution, optimal for comfortable ambience for both students and educators.

The ProgressSoft lab, hallway and common area also comprise an efficient layout that encourages interaction between students in a convenient and comfortable space under the theme of “Think Global”, designed to motivate and encourage students to think outside of the box, pursue and persist; both inside and outside of the classroom.

“Enriching the resources and supporting the mission of the University of Jordan is a collective national responsibility for the advancement of the Kingdom of Jordan and its future.” noted Michael Wakileh, CEO of ProgressSoft, “Our ambition is to qualify a new generation of students that no longer seek job opportunities at institutions, but rather, have institutions seek their profound knowledge, skills and expertise.”

The ProgressSoft lab opened its doors to KASIT students today, but will continue to stand as a model that inspires other Jordanian corporations to take part in supporting ventures that assist in the advancement of the quality of education in the University of Jordan and upliftment of students in the IT field and The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

ProgressSoft Corporation has long been maintaining a fruitful partnership with the University of Jordan where it utilized its expertise to update the IT curriculum of KASIT with the aim to bridge the gap between classroom skills and work-field requirements, this is in addition to its provisioning of 21 smart television displays now placed in all KASIT computer labs to elevate and modernize the classroom experience for students.

The University of Jordan is always keen to enrich the learning environment for its students and aspires that this successful initiative will be one of many more to come in its advancement endeavors.
