ProgressSoft proudly concluded a pioneering elective course at Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT), aimed at equipping third-year programming students with real-world industry experience and practical skills in software engineering.
The elective course, titled Software Engineer Career Starter, is part of a strategic collaboration between ProgressSoft and PSUT, designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and market demands. Led by Mohammad Abdellatif, a ProgressSoft senior software architect with extensive experience in software development, and enriched by sessions from industry experts, the course offered students direct insight into real-world challenges and professional standards, significantly enhancing their readiness for careers in the software industry.
The course welcomed 22 students from software engineering disciplines for the second semester of the year, running from February to May 2025, with classes held twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays. Distinctively, the course was structured as immersive, hands-on training that gave students the opportunity to experience firsthand the challenges and workflows of software development within a leading technology company.
As a testament to the program’s impact, several high-performing students were extended job offers to join ProgressSoft, launching their careers with one of the leading providers of financial technology solutions.
ProgressSoft reaffirms its ongoing commitment to nurturing young talent, bridging the gap between academic learning and industry needs, and empowering the next generation of innovators.
