ProgressSoft, a leading provider in real-time payment solutions, took part in the first banking forum in Azerbaijan today as a Silver Sponsor. The forum was held and organized by the Azerbaijan Banks Association in Baku, from 24 to 25 November 2016.
The forum entitled "Development of banking system in post-oil period: new challenges and perspectives," attracted an audience of more than 350 people, including the senior management of regulatory and supervisory authorities on finance and the economy, CEOs of commercial banks, heads of businesses and public organizations, representatives of international financial institutions and foreign embassy staff. ProgressSoft took part in two out of the four panels during the 2-day event.
Issues related to the financial sector in Azerbaijan were discussed including crisis management and the diversification of the activities of banks, banking legislation and the future and new technology for the banking world.
The forum focused on the need to drive the focus of financial institutions towards the technological advancements being embraced globally, and to learn from the successful experiences of other countries to advance the level of banking and financial services in Azerbaijan.
